About

As an artist, I strive to create pieces that resonate with the viewer’s heart and mind. I’m the kind of person who finds the silver lining in every cloud. While clues to my optimism are tucked into every image, I invite the viewer to discover their own relationship to the art.

My third solo show, End in Mind, opened in February 2022. While I enjoy multiple mediums, I primarily work in Adobe Photoshop on an iPad and / or a Wacom Intuos Pro tablet creating digital collages from original photographs and drawings. On average each collage takes upwards of 30 hours to create.

Digital art may be printed in a variety of sizes and formats. This print of Stone Mandala is on 36 x 36 inch gallery-wrapped canvas for a yoga studio.

End in Mind

2022 Art Works RVA

A celebration of life in the memento mori style. Memento mori is a Latin phrase reminding us to bloom completely because we cannot know when our transition will occur. Marcus Aurelius is quoted as saying, “You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.” In other words, keep the end in mind.

A Night at the Opera

2020 Art Works RVA

Opera has entranced audiences since 1598. It is the complete entertainment package — lights, costumes, scenery, symphonic music, and athletic singing. Opera performers must project their voices over the orchestra pit to the far reaches of the theater without electronic amplification. They are adept not only at enunciating the libretto—which may be written in Italian, French, Spanish, English, or German—but also portraying the corresponding emotions through their voice. This body of work is designed to appeal to opera aficionados as well as tickle the curiosity of novices by dispelling common misperceptions about the art form.
